So, rather than spending any more brainpower on why and how other wargaming companies are beating their own supporters with legal sticks, let's look at some new eye candy from Prodos!

War of the Words- GW sends DMCA's to Prominent Bloggers
Games Workshop LLC, the largest and most known company in the miniature wargame industry, has taken legal action against several well-known, much-loved, and oft-visited wargaming Blogs. The big question is, is this a "final blow," or merely a "first volley"?

A Journey into Dark Age: Playtesting and Activations
It's been a little bit since I updated you on the progress of my Dark Age list, as I prepare for the March to Immortality. Since my very first game I have played about 10 more games, and I've found myself challenging some preconceptions of the game. Below are some of my musings and the current iteration of my list.

Tablescapes has 160K in the bag
Something happened today, in case you didn't know. Secret Weapon's Tablescapes hit the 160k mark. Why is this important, you ask. Well it means that they reached the next stretch goal. They have finally unlocked the entire "urban street" theme. To go with this great news, I have some nice pictures to show you of what they have for the theme.
Disposable Heroes: An army on the cheap
Okay, so this is a bit one-off for me. Usually I tell people to support a company's game by buying their models, not 3rd party products. However, I happened upon some really cool Army Men at the best price imaginable, and felt the need to share.

PoweredPlay Gaming says "Let there be light...ing kits"
While searching for something new and cool in my hobby I was
turned on to this Kickstarter.
PoweredPlay Gaming is bringing hobby conversion to a whole new
level. Ever wondered what the running
lights on your tanks look like? How
about the lasers on your shiny new flying machine of death? For most of us the
electrical knowledge to realize those visions is beyond us. So PoweredPlay Gaming has taken that hurdle
away and designed an easy to use kit to add lighting to our models.
Tablescapes... All the little things
As I write this Tablescapes, Secret Weapon’s modular table
Kickstarter, approaches its next stretch goal.
So why do an article before they reach it, well there were a bunch of
announcements for these tables that we just haven’t gotten to talk about. So on to the tension clamps, storage tabs,
and bags… oh my!

Paint your Stuff- For Prizes!!! No, Seriously!!! Yes, YOU!!!
If you're like most hobbyists, nothing short of electric shock therapy can get you to finish your painting projects. Well, rather than punishment, what if you had a chance to win free hobby swag just for painting a few models a month? Impossible you say? I thought so too. Fortunately for us all, Phil Millar didn't.

Dwarven Forge Breaks the $1M Mark!
It seems like just yesterday we were talking about this project breaking $825K... when in reality it was all of four days ago. In four days Game Tiles picked up another $200K, and Dwarven Forge had to add another stretch goal! The question isn't "if" that one will fall, but "when" and "what comes next?"

One Week left for GameTiles Kickstarter!
There's one week to go for the Dwarven Forge Kickstarter, and there's just under $80k to go to hit the final stretch goal of one million dollars. Can it get there? Have you pledged up? If not, here's why you should.

Tablescapes Passes 140k
So I posted a very hasty story about Secret Weapon's TableScapes project passing 130k on Thursday. I was preparing for a weekend long camping trip and rushed it a bit more that I wanted to. But the project continued to chug along this weekend and has crossed the $140k mark. And even though Secret Weapon was at Adepticon they posted an update...
Kickstarter's over, but the war never ends
You know, a lot of companies would be tickled pink with a 460% successful kickstarter. Even a lot more have a notorious habit of "shutting down" to try to catch up with everything that had already been unlocked during the Kickstarter- especially with a short deadline. You know, a lot of companies aren't Prodos.

Effective Gun Control: Shooting in Dark Age
In the post-apocalyptic skirmishes of Dark Age, the order of the day is close combat- you simply cannot win on shooting alone. However, effective use of ranged combat can tip the scales in your favor. With as many penalties as there are to shooting, how can you make it work for you?
Dwarven Forge Kickstarter surpasses $825k
Our friends at Dwarven Forge are burying one stretch goal after another. Can they finish out the two "impossible goals" they have left in the next ten days? If so, what comes next?

Tablescapes goes past 130k
Secret Weapon's Tablescapes modular tables Kickstarter passed 130k today. This means they "clean" urban set has unlocked. The display board sets have unlocked, and we now are within striking distance of the "ruined" urban sets.
They have also given us some new concept art for the newest tile set, along with the urban wall set. Take a look, and if you havn'e pledged yet and you are going to Adepticon, Secret Weapon will have the sample tiles there. If you see them there, let us know what you think of them.

Warzone Resurrection Kickstarter Completed: What Happens Next?
Monday, April 15, 2013
A city table in reach!
Secret Weapon has now announced a new mid-tier goal. A 8 tile (2'x2') set of just "clean" streets. So if you play a game where ruined or damage city tiles make less sense, you can now get only the "clean" tiles. Now LXG has been following Spinespur since its kickstarter, and 266 of you read our contest articles Why do I bring this up? Cause each and everyone of you 266 people need to give this idea serious thought. City tables aren't easy, and this make them so much more so. So if you want a beautiful city table, go here and pledge. If you have no idea what I'm talking about here is my original article. Until Next Time...

Warzone Resurrection Breaks £145k! Mishima unlocks, new Mishima stretch!
Heading into the last eight hours of the Kickstarter, Prodos has now surpassed their second bundle of stretch goals... they are updating goals one at a time as they are reached, going into the home stretch. How far can this get in the last hours?

Secret Weapon's Scrap Yard is go!
So Secret Weapon's modular table is a success. If you haven't read my article a few days ago, it's here. In about 3 days they have beaten their goal of $80,000 by a whopping 15k (as of this writing). These guys have challenged the status quo that there is no market for prefabricated tables. So no begins the wonderful journey of unlocking new themes. Next up Urban Streets.
Warzone: Resurrection clears the £130k Stretch!
The Warzone::Resurrection Kickstarter is down to a day to go, and has surpassed the £130k mark. What does that mean for backers? Where does that put us for Mishima?

Warzone Resurrection breaks £120K! Could we see Mishima?
With a little over 48 hours to go, the Warzone: Resurrection Kickstarter is still powering through, having now toppled the £120K mark-something I admit even I didn't think it'd reach! Are we in range of releasing Mishima? Will the MegaCorp of the Rising Sun make it to the kickstarter?

Kickwatcher: Modular Table from Secret Weapon Miniatures
Ok, today Secret Weapon Miniatures launched a Kickstarter that really blew my mind. A line of injection molded plastic tiles that are used to make a gaming table. I am only aware of one other such product, and I think Secret Weapon is going to really compete for the market.

Fluid Combat Status
Beyond the Gates of Antares has a few fairly unique mechanics. One of which has to be a Fluid Combat Status. Throughout the game, a unit will move from fully ready (Alert) to "Run Away! Run Away" (Broken) with a few stops throughout. What makes this even more interesting is this can go back and forth a lot with in 1 game turn. Read beyond the fold for a more detailed idea of how this works in game.
Dwarven Forge crushes Kickstarter Goals!
The Kickstarter for Dwarven Forge to produce their new "Game Tiles" range of modular dungeon walls is simply off the charts. For RPG fans the advantages of this project is obvious. For TTG fans- this is your new dungeon/sewer/catacomb table. Let's look at how further stretch goals are adding even more to your purchase.

Dropzone Commander announces new terrain option!
So the biggest gripe I've heard about Dropzone Commander is the scale. No one I know owns appropriately scaled terrain. The 10mm scale has traditionally been the purview of historical gaming, and DZC is not historical. Hawkwargames has had a resin based terrain system to make cityscapes, but unless you are sure, they can be cost prohibitive. Enter the new cityscape terrain box from Hawkwargames.

Spinespur Contest Update #4- Thug Life!
Just wanted to give you guys an update on where the Spinespur Contest thugs are at the moment. They're coming along nicely, although obviously a bit more input wouldn't hurt. Remember guys that the Kickstarter ends in two days, so get in there, pledge, and try to win these babies!
Psyche of a Gamer: Getting Your Points Back
So here is something that gets my mind working on a regular basis. I see and hear gamers everywhere decry that this unit or that unit is sub par. And the reason for this evaluation often is "It never gets it's point back." This one statement often sends me running for duct tape to keep my head from exploding. So this post is dedicated to the exploration of this statement, and why it drives me bat shit crazy.

Spinespur: A Game Overview
So, now that I've gotten in enough games of Spinespur, I feel more confident writing a general overview of the game. This will help give new players (or gamers considering picking up the game) a bit of insight into how it plays.
Why you should be playing Infinity!
For the uninitiated “Infinity is a game with 28mm high metal miniatures that
simulates combat and special operations in a science fiction environment with
Manga aesthetics. Infinity miniatures are characterized by the high quality and
detail of their modeling, the dynamism of their postures and their futuristic
aesthetic.” You can get that from the front page of their website. As a relative novice to Infinity but a veteran
tabletop war-gamer I wanted to give you my impressions of what it was like
starting Infinity, and why you should consider getting involved with a more
grown up and nuanced game about people, aliens, and robots of all shapes and
sizes fighting the dynamic fast paced conflicts of the future.
Tim Lyson Hates Me: Painting Flesh
Welcome to Part 3 of the Painting Blog. In my humble opinion, learning to paint skin tones is a crucial step toward having a good looking army. My Skin Tone Painting was taught to me years ago from a Games Day that I had attended. This Base skin tone method was used on my imperial guard and Dwarfs, and adapted to other skin tones in my other armies. Disclaimer: I have Citadel Paints from the 90’s and on and will refer to them, but there are equivalent colours in other Paint Ranges such as P3 and Vallejo.

Spinespur Contest Update #3
Hello everybody, 2CE here, just wanted to give you a little bit of a head's up on the Spinespur Contest models. Got a pretty good amount of work done on the "big three" tonight, so I figured I'd show you all what you might be winning!
Dwarven Forge Kickstarter- Your New Dungeon/Sewer Table!
So we've covered urban terrain... but what if you want to do an good, old-school dungeon crawl? Hunting down Necromutants in a Dark Citadel? Searching the sewers and catacombs under Spinespur? Hunting Abominations in the catacombs and undercities of Steampunk Victoria? Maybe you're getting ready to invade the fabled Lair of Medusa in Godslayer? Got a game of Dungeon Ball ready? Then look no further than this new kickstarter from Dwarven Forge.
Kickwatcher: Terrain from CF! You GOTTA see these!
So I had a pretty rough Monday on the First of April, with a 10 hour shift at the job that makes this thing possible followed by a hellish bike commute home that saw me only getting about halfway home in the time it normally takes me to get home and showered due to severe wind. All of that is only important to establish the complete 180 degree turnaround my day had when I got home to find I had received some mail from Jolly Olde England.

Night of the Living Spinespur Batrep!
TokenGamerChic and I were in a state of wanting some more Spinespur action, trying to utilize one of the scenarios in the Spinespur: Threshold rulebook. When we happened to read over the "Be Afraid" scenario, we knew exactly who we had to get involved in the game...
A Journey into Dark Age: My First List
Ok, it's been a about a week and a half since I declared my intention to pursue the March to Immortality tournament invitation. In that week and a half I have been deciding what army to run, and trying to come up with a list. One of the hardest parts of deciding on an army is that I want to do them all. I love models in all the ranges, and the stories of St. Mary and the Brood really appealed to me. The Dragyri models are beautiful, and I love the imagery they are using for the Kukulkani. But in the end I chose the Skarrd. I chose the Skarrd for two reasons, there are models I like in the range, like the Blood Mistress, the Harpies, and the Sister of Charity. My second reason has to be the story of how they became what they are.
