     So, having some free time on our Thanksgiving Holiday, Ali and I decided to get in a game for our This Is Not A Test campaign, with a decidedly festive bend. After all, what better way to celebrate the holidays in the Wasteland than with a Tribals vs. Settlers battle report?

Starter Box Battles: Mother of Monsters vs Children of December

So, for a seasonally correct Starter Box Battle, Ali and I decided to break out some Malifaux, and have a good old fashion game of Mother Nature verses the December Queen- Lilith against Rasputina.

Malifaux Battle Report: Mei Feng vs. Perdita

I know it might seem that I never actually play.  Most of our battle reports involve 2CE and his various opponents.  Mainly that is a product of the club primairly playing in his house. but today was different, I, Belgarath97, got in a game against Merek, with an added bonus that we both played with new crews we both had interest in.  For me it was Mei Feng, I'm really interested in her as a master so I can have another Arcanist option to go with Colette.  Merek used Perdita, which would be a complement to his Hoffman crew.  We got Standard deployment, with the Reckoning Strategy, and Power Ritual, Breakthrough, Vendetta, Line In the Sand, and Protect Territory Schemes.  I chose Vendetta and Protect Territory, and chose one of my Rail Workers to kill his Hunter for Vendetta.  Merek chose Power Ritual, which he revealed, and Protect Territory.

Malifaux Battle Report: Yan Lo vs Rasputina, 65 Soul Stones!

So, as you can read in this article, Ali has finally finished her Yan Lo box, plus the extra models she really wanted to use thematically with it.  As a reward, she wanted to do something she never does and play a BIG GAME, using all her freshly painted pieces.  As it turns out, the only person with enough painted models to go up against a 65 soulstone force all with one theme was me.  So, we ditched the normal order of picking things, and settled right into going to town with Yan Lo vs. Rasputina!

Attack of the Unpainted Minis: A Dropzone Commander Battle Report. (700pts, UCM/Shaltari)

So, we generally have a rule against playing with unpainted models.  However, we've been so impressed with the Dropzone Commander models we just couldn't wait.  That, and Merek has been doing such a stellar job of getting stuff painted, that since he was over and I have a camera to test out, we figured it was time to make something happen!

Spine City? Sinspur? Who cares, it's a Spinespur Batrep!

Having just received a bunch of terrain from Mr. Walter Anstiss in the post (gods I love the smell of mdf in the morning!) Ali and I decided that before we started painting them, to set up a game with all unpainted sepia looking terrain, and completely painted models.  It'd give the game a "Sin City" kind of look.  So, artistic license in hand, we settled down for a 200 point game of Spinespur, the Dark Faith versus the Institution...

Logic vs. Faith: 600pt Warzone Battle Report!

     With new models in hand, B97 & I settled in for a nice relaxing evening of beating each other senseless.  To get a better grip on the new Warzone: Resurrection rules, we started with a "Basic" game, and a small point total at that.  600 points. What followed was far from Basic, and sure didn't feel small!

Street Chum: First game, first look.

     So, as B97 mentioned last week, Spinespur holds a very fond place in LXG's heart.  It was our first Kickstarter, first time I'd really gotten to personally sit down with a game designed/owner/creator in a long time (it's frustrating working with a bunch of Nottingham folks while living in Philadelphia sometimes!), tied for first "small box" game that our group all had models for painted and ready to play, and really the only game we're playing in its genre (because, well, anytime we look at anything else skirmish and horror based, we always go "hey, we could just play Spinespur instead.") With Street Chum being released to backers, Mordin and I settled in to play a down and dirty game of Spinespur: Street Chum Edition, with the hopes of shaping it into a regular campaign feature.

Back to Drawing Boards: an MTI Dark Age Battle Report

     With the upcoming March to Immortality at Gencon- which Belgarath97 now knows he'll be in regardless of local competitions due to it being an Open Event this year- it was time to get in some practice.  Especially since the point totals have changed, and all his hard work list building and points maximizing just went out the window.

     In the city of Spinespur, holidays are a great excuse to murderface your friends. Mordin56, TokenGamerChic, Belgarath97, and I your friendly neighborhood Second Class Elitist, sat down for an evening of good old fashion violence, LXG Holiday Style. Time to massacre some Muthas!
