6MMRPC Belgarath's Malifaux Viktoria's Warband

Surprise! Yep I didn't go with anything 2CE suggested. Those of you who have followed me rantings, know that I don't particularly enjoy painting. So entering a painting challenge such as this helps motivate me to get them done. But my first project has to be something I feel compelled to paint. 2CE talks about a mini telling him when it's done, and I agree with him and model let's you know how it wants to be painted. So while I was looking through the mountain I found myself called to paint Viktoria and her crew.  It is the box set with one substitution.

When rules go wrong

When rules go wrong.

If you are anything like me, first off I'm sorry, because that means you are a stickler for things making sense.  Especially in your rule books.  And it means you and other's like you are good at finding things in rule books that don't.  If you really are like me, again I'm sorry, but you have a friend or two that like pointing these things out to you and watching your head explode.  Well folks, get the duct tape ready to hold your head together, because 2CE found a dozy.  It comes from a game we've not talked about lately, but after a great trip to NY to play another club over Memorial Day, we'll probably be getting back into it.  The game is Dark Age, and the rule is as follows:

Ratchets can be fielded 6 for every 250  points you are playing, and cost 50 points each.

Hidden Agendas: Dark Legion: WIFM

In the history of Mutant Chronicles and Warzone the nature of Cybertronic has been in varying states of question.  At times, they have been clearly pawns of the Dark Legion and at others the waters more murky.  In this iteration, however, Cybertronic are clearly a human corporation (well kind of) and there are no ties to the Dark Legion.  And thus the reasons for the Dark Legion to pick a fight, become more clear...

From Box to Table: The Brotherhood Starter Box from Warzone Resurrection

Okay, so...why not just a regular unboxing article? To be perfectly honest, it's because GMort covers most of the same games we do, and his Unboxed series is just too good to try to follow. Seriously, go read them. On top of that, Johan also does an amazing job with unboxings on his blog as well. Instead, I wanted to take a slightly different track, and discuss models going literally from sprue to table ready. Today we're going to look at the Brotherhood Starter Box for Warzone: Resurrection from Prodos Games.

Starter Box Battles: Mother of Monsters vs Children of December

Starter Box Battles is a series of battle reports where we try to showcase either the starter box of a game, or a game played using only two basic faction boxes. So, for a seasonally correct Starter Box Battle, Ali and I decided to break out some Malifaux, and have a good old fashion game of Mother Nature verses the December Queen- Lilith against Rasputina.

WIP Wednesday: Ta'an Arnts, Meka and Monkeys, and Railworkers

The incredibly talented and wonderful artist Meg Maples of Arcane Paintworks coined the phrase "WIP Wednesday" (as far as I know),  and I thought that was so wonderful that it needs to become a thing.  So, here's a few quick looks at our project tables at LXG Headquarters this week.

It's Contest Time! Choose your Favorite Campaign!

Hello everyone!  The writers of LXG all got together last night, and because we can't come up with a convincing idea, we're turning it into a contest.  Help us choose what to play, and maybe win some models while you're doing it!

Box Review: Masters of the Path Box Set

Greetings, fellow Malifaux fans!

When LXG hit Malifaux, we did it hard. Almost everyone in the club has two or three factions going , and there's plenty more we want. I think it's because they hit our weak spot- we love awesome models. And they have plenty. So, I guess we'd better get started with some model and faction reviews, and you can bet there are bunches of battle reports coming your way! Let's get started with my first box, the Masters of the Path box set.
