There's one week to go for the Dwarven Forge Kickstarter, and there's just under $80k to go to hit the final stretch goal of one million dollars. Can it get there? Have you pledged up? If not, here's why you should.
If you're an RPG type, well, the answer is obvious: this stuff is awesome, and if you're putting down figures on an anything, that anything should look as good as your figures, right?
Chance are though, you're not coming here because you're an RPG guy... at least not specifically (although I don't doubt that many of our readers are as well). If you're coming to this blog, you're a TTG kinda bloke. What use could you have for this obviously pen-and-paper RPG product? Well, a lot, trust me.
First of all, there's your local flavor of Dungeon Ball. This has got to be the best Dungeon Scrumming table design ever, especially with all of the modular features.
Play a tabletop game that takes place in any time period where they have sewers, or catacombs, or dungeons, or castles, or buildings made out of freaking stone? Well, here's your table, right here. As I posted over here, three kits with the free add-ons gets you a nice 4x4 with tunnels, and the 5 set pledge gets you a bricked up tight 4x4+, or a nicely tunneled 4x6. 
Maybe you're not looking to build a whole table... maybe you'd just love an amazing display piece for your favorite army of dwarves, or trolls, or ratmen, or religious fanatics or vikings, or any other army that could possibly be in stone halls or catacombs. The two or three kit options would make one hell of a 2x2 army display board that would be able to be kitted out uniquely to your army, yet still modular enough to allow for modification if your list changes- not at all a bad plan!
If you're looking for just dioramas or display plinths for painted models, again, it's gonna be hard to beat this quality, and this volume, at this price. Two corner pieces, three straights, and one floor tile gives you a 4x6 display for your favorite couple models. If you pledge to the "two kit sweet spot", you'll also get those nice pillars, demonic doors, and other bits and bobs that will really take your model dioramas to the next level. Seriously guys, there's nobody out there that wouldn't benefit from backing this Kickstarter! Just remember, it closes April 30th at 10pm Eastern, so don't wait until the last minute, get in on this now!
Easy to paint, easy to use, easy to store, and able to be used after being driven over by a pickup truck. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to playing on a table made of tiny indestructible black boxes. I wish my models were as hardy as Dwarvenite. And just in case you're like the exact opposite of a painter, Dwarven Forge took care of that too. They come in dark grey. A simple drybrushing- a technique literally anyone can get right in a few minutes of practice- and they're ready to go!
