Zombie of the Month- January 2015- Plague Zombies by Mantic Games

   Well, a new year, a new batch of snarling undead. If you think the ZOM class picture was scary last year, wait 'till you see what I intend to get on the table by the end of THIS year. I have some insane ideas planned out for zombie entertainment. But alas, the big crazy stuff will have to wait until after our double-campaign schedule lightens up.

   In the meantime, though, I still have plenty of assorted zombies, either already in my possession, or still coming at me via Kickstarters. I'm going to start off with one that our regular readers may have already caught a glimpse of in Zomtober. Even though they have already had their picture online, you know I like to give every zombie his spotlight. So, here it is:

One More for the Cabinet: Bombshell Miniatures M4R1A Bot

Okay, so, I have a ton of models I need to finish up for the campaign(s) LXG is getting ready to drop. So, it makes sense the first model I finish of the New Year is one of those, right?  Not a chance.  See, I got ahold of the Metropolis inspired figured from Bombshell, and, well, everything else has to wait.

The LXG Painting Board

   Ok, most of you probably know by now that we have a "painting board" at LXG Headquarters. For those of you who haven't seen it, it is, quite simply, a dry erase board with a spreadsheet containing the members of our club, and the models we own for each game that need to be painted. The numbers are points which are allocated as follows, quoting Second Class Elitist (2CE) from his New Year's Eve Resolutions article: "Our points system is based on model base size: 25mm/30mm is 1, 40mm or cavalry is 2, 50mm is 4, and vehicles are 10. Terrain is based on similar numbers, but with a lot more leeway to trying to figure them out."
   Since 2CE brought up New Year's Hobby Resolutions, and he and I both made painting related ones, I think it's high time we enforced some culpability on this painting board by letting you, our readers, periodically see our progress. To that end, I am showing you the Painting Board as it stood at midnight, December 31st, 2014. I will then introduce to you any changes we are making to the painting board for 2015, and try to post an update article periodically to let you know how things are progressing.

Finding My Hobby: Hobby Resolutions

Here in America, not sure about elsewhere in the world, it is tradition to make a resolution to change something in our lives for the positive.  Common resolutions include losing weight, quiting smoking, treating myself better, etc.  When I worked for GW we used to make hobby resolutions.  In that vein, I'm going to put down my hobby resolutions in writing for you to hold me accountable to.  So here we go...

   Well, zombie lovers, we've come to the end of our first wonderful year of Zombie of the Month! My apologies for missing February, but with most months being entire sets, we still have plenty of lovely zombies out there to add to your collection, if you so choose.
